Bessfa Rural Bank Commissions Three-Unit Classroom Block for Tankpasi Methodist Primary School

Bessfa Rural Bank has commissioned a newly completed three-unit classroom block for the Tankpasi Methodist Primary School in the Tankpasi community under Garu District. The project, initiated by the community in 2021, was completed through the bank’s support as part of its corporate social responsibility.
The Tankpasi community, home to 1,352 people across 455 households, faces numerous developmental challenges, including limited educational infrastructure. The primary school, which is not under government management, currently serves 203 students with only four teachers.
At the commissioning ceremony, held on the school premises, the CEO of Bessfa Rural Bank, Mr. Awudu Ibrahim, revealed that the intervention was prompted by a letter from the community’s chief seeking support to complete the classroom block. Recognizing the pressing need, the bank took the project under its wing to ensure its completion.
“As part of our corporate social responsibility, we saw it necessary to assist the Tankpasi community in this critical area. Education is the foundation of development, and we urge the community to maintain this facility to benefit future generations,” Mr. Ibrahim stated.
The Headteacher of the school, Mr. Akudbilla Hamza Prosper, expressed gratitude on behalf of the school, parents, and students. He recounted the previous struggles faced by all stakeholders due to inadequate infrastructure. “We are thankful to Bessfa Rural Bank for this invaluable support. However, like Oliver Twist, we humbly ask for more to further improve the school’s conditions,” he added.
The event was attended by community leaders, parents, teachers, and students, who celebrated the milestone with joy and optimism for a brighter future. The new classroom block is expected to provide a conducive learning environment and inspire hope for continued development in the community.
