The Upper East Music Awards Controversy: Why Timorino Didn’t Deserve Artist of the Year~Zephaniah Writes

The recent Upper East Music Awards has sparked controversy, particularly with Fase Two being named Artist of the Year. Many have argued that Timorino was more deserving of the award, but I strongly disagree. In this blog post, we’ll explore why Timorino didn’t deserve the Artist of the Year award.
The Music Industry is More Than Just Hit Songs
In my opinion, Artist of the Year should not be awarded solely based on having a hit song. If that were the case, then perhaps Timorino would have been a suitable candidate. However, I believe there are more factors to consider.
Timorino’s contributions to the music industry seem limited to releasing popular songs. While he has had significant success in this regard, I don’t think it’s enough to warrant the Artist of the Year award. The music industry is more than just hit songs; it’s about the impact, influence, and contributions an artist makes to the industry.
Fase Two: A More Deserving Winner
On the other hand, Fase Two has demonstrated a broader range of achievements. Not only have they released hit songs, but they have also collaborated with numerous media houses, embarked on extensive media tours, and brought prominent artists to the region. Furthermore, they have organized several high-profile concerts in the region.
In contrast, Timorino’s efforts seem relatively minimal. He hasn’t organized any notable concerts, hasn’t engaged in media tours, and hasn’t been particularly active on social media platforms beyond TikTok. It appears that he relies heavily on the virality of his songs on TikTok to gain recognition.
Other Deserving Artists
While Timorino’s win as New Artist of the Year may be justified, I firmly believe that he does not deserve the Artist of the Year award. In fact, I think Alaptawan and Flame bwoy are more deserving of the award than Timorino. These artists have made significant contributions to the music industry and have demonstrated a broader range of achievements.
The Upper East Music Awards controversy has sparked a debate about what it means to be Artist of the Year. While Timorino may have had a successful year, I believe that Fase Two was a more deserving winner. The music industry is more than just hit songs; it’s about the impact, influence, and contributions an artist makes to the industry.
