WAEC Secures Funds to Expedite WASSCE 2024 Results

In a press release dated December 27, 2024, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) announced a significant development regarding the processing of the WASSCE results for school candidates in 2024. The Ministry of Education has disbursed an additional GH₵35,000,000.00 to the Council. This timely financial intervention is expected to expedite the scanning of objective answer sheets and finalize the results processing.
The Council has assured stakeholders that it is working tirelessly to ensure the results are ready by the end of December 2024. This commitment highlights WAEC’s dedication to meeting its timelines despite financial and operational challenges.
While the additional funds are a welcome boost, WAEC has appealed to the Ministry of Education to release the remaining outstanding balance. Meeting these financial obligations is essential to maintaining the integrity of the examination process and ensuring smooth operations.
As the year comes to a close, WAEC extended its best wishes to all stakeholders and reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling its mandate. The Council’s efforts, despite the hurdles, reflect its dedication to delivering reliable and credible examination results.
This latest development underscores the importance of timely funding in ensuring the success of key educational processes. Stakeholders will undoubtedly look forward to the prompt release of the WASSCE results, which serve as a crucial step for candidates as they transition to higher education or other endeavors.
